7 Fun Indoor Activities for Kids during Monsoon
-
Water Game
With the beautiful monsoon season outside, it is almost impossible to divert your little not to pay in the rainwater, you can set up alternative options at home. Collect some clear rainwater in a bucket and prepare colorful paper boats and float them in this rainwater. You can also make some holes in the mug to create an effect of a mini rain shower and let the child play with it.
-
Family Movie Time
Rainy season can be very frustrating for both kids as well as parents since you cannot go anywhere out when it is pouring. Plan a movie date with your family and kids. Grab some popcorns, juice, and snacks and watch your kid’s favorite movie together. Try some fun animated 3D/4D movie so that your little one can enjoy the most.
-
Cook Together
As long as the kids are stuck indoors due to rain, make the most of it. Try cooking and baking with your kids. Make the cooking activity fun by assigning some responsibilities like decorating mini cupcakes, cutting cookies, mixing, pouring etc. Always try out the task under your supervision.
-
Art and Craft
Arts and crafts never go out of fashion, no matter whatever may be the season!! Grab some colour pencils, sketch, colour paper sheet and get started with your kids. You can encourage them to make greeting cards, finger painting etc for an upcoming birthday or festivals like Diwali and Christmas
-
Pretend and Play
What else can be the best theme for pretend play during monsoon!! Pretend that it is raining inside your house. Bring colourful umbrellas, raincoats, and jackets to set up a raining day inside the house. Enjoy creating different scenarios and pretend play as if it is raining heavily.

Reading your favorite book together
Start reading out books together, you can also convert the pouring season into good storytelling session. Involve the kids and encourage them to narrate their own version. You can read picture books and board books for the younger ones and storybook for older kids. Lying on the bed with some amazing storybook is the best thing to do on a rainy day, enjoy each other’s company.

Playing Hide and Seek
This game is very simple but kids love it the most. Make use the whole house and get creative with the hiding place. In addition to it, you can ask the kids to recite 2’s table, alphabets instead of counting to ten. When you are searching for the child pretend as if it is impossible to find them, they surely will love the fun!!
