Meet the Modern Day Churails on ZEE5 – Detailed Review

This monotonous life is talking a toll on me and web series on ZEE5 came to my rescue.  I am a huge fan of women centric shows, it instantly lifts my mood and gives me sense of accomplishment. Recently came across Churails after a suggestion from friend of mine.  I totally enjoyed binge watching this Pakistani drama, the story line is unique.

 Churails – Review

Churails is a Pakistani drama web series   available on ZEE5. Churails is a story conceived by  British-Pakistani director Asim Abbasi, a rising female director in the Pakistani cine field. You might think it to be a horror web series, but it is not. It touches the subject of feminism and equality in today’s male dominant world. Churails is a magnificent, genre-blending, stereotype-breaking web series from Pakistan. This series is all about women who have had it with men getting away with their sins and delivering raw vigilante style justice. Churails is best web series that I seriously recommend you must watch if you have a girl gang and super proud about them.

Reasons why you should watch Churails?

  • The most unconventional story line

Churails isn’t exactly the superhero story that you have been accustomed to, but the story line is super unique and classy. We don’t dive into a world where the hero is all good and has superhuman strength. Churails is more like what exactly today’s women are undergoing.

  •  Handpicked cast and crew

All-Pakistani stellar, 4 female main leads astound us with their incredible performance. Another amazing work from Asim Abbasi, the award-winning director of Cake. Batool is an ex-convict , the role is played by Nimra Bucha, she does the role convincingly. Zubaida as a boxer is got a spectacular physique and Mehar Bano has done justice to the slots allocated to her. Sarwat Gilani Mirza is my favorite, she is classy and witty at the same time. She plays the role of ex lawyer and trophy wife as Sara with ease. Lastly, I found the role of Jugnoo super impressive which is played by Yasra Rizvi.

  • Revolutionizing women empowerment

Churails is all about women taking a stand against patriarchy and demands justice for the hurt and the voiceless among them. The show beautifully depicts women supporting each other and coming out of patriarchy.  I loved the mix of emotion and aggression. #MainChurailHoon unique and classy.

  • An inspiring and non-masala web series

From dealing with marital rape to underage marriage to husband-infidelity and patriarchy, this web series has proved just exactly why a 10-episode web series has so much more potential than a typical masala movie. I wasn’t bored at all; this is the reason I binge watched the show.

  • Beautiful Blend of Urdu, Hindi and English

The dialogue is crisp, witty and to the point. I love the blend of Urdu , Hindi and English throughout the move .  Honestly, the combo of fierce women with to the point dialogue is the biggest highlight of Churails.

More such amazing shows on ZEE5

If you are looking for more amazing women-centric web series just like Churails, then you need to checkout ZEE5. They got the best collection to kill your boredom. #MainChurailHoon is classic and my recent favorite as well.  Don’t miss to checkout 5 best all-time women-centric shows on ZEE5 i.e. Badi Aapa, Noorpur Ki Rani, Buntry I Love You, Noorpur Ki Rani, Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar.

There was a lot of buzz about Churails and rightly so. It is a progressive show that has strong female protagonists and a good storyline too.

To be honest, the title “Churails” had convinced me not to watch the series but your review is quite different from what I predicted the series to be. So this is added to my watch list now.

I have watched this series last year and completely loved the way it has been written and made. Coming from a regressive society like Pakistan when it comes to women rights, this is indeed very brave.
