Tried & Tested Curlvana Moisture-Lock Curl Styling Leave-In Cream Review
Tried & Tested Curlvana Moisture-Lock Curl Styling Leave-In Cream Review
After a series of bad hair days since the advent of summers, I finally decided to pick up a leave-in curl cream to salvage my tresses. The summers spell doom for my wavy mane because the humidity makes my hair super frizzy and no matter what I do, the frizz is inevitable. During my search, I came across Curlvana, a brand that has no glycerine in its formula and therefore reduces frizz and flyaway from the hair. It sounded a little gimmicky, but I decided to give it a try anyway. After having tried it for about 6 weeks here is my Curlvana leave-in conditioner review.
A little something about Curlvana
I had never heard of this brand before and therefore, decided to do some research before investing my hard-earned money into this leave-in conditioner for curly hair. Curlvana is the first glycerine-free CG-friendly brand in India. Their products are specially formulated for wavy, curly, and coiled hair across all porosity levels. They have put in a lot of research into understanding Indian curly hair and its relationship with tropical weather to come up with a line of products that not only define curly hair but also keep frizz at bay.
They are offering a total curl care bundle of 5 products. You have everything from shampoo to conditioner and leave-in, a gel as well as a hair mask. The entire lineup seems fun and quirky. The overall branding looks very aesthetically designed. Curlvana is an eco-friendly brand that ethically sources its ingredients. They are cruelty-free and dermatologically approved.
Curlvana Leave-In Conditioner Review
Curlvana’s leave-in conditioner comes in a tube packaging which is bright blue in colour. It is travel-friendly and the cap screws in tight so the cream doesn’t spill out. It contains 200ml of products which will last you for about 2 months. The fragrance is a bit strong, but considering the brand doesn’t include artificial fragrances, I can overlook this factor.
Coming to the actual product, it has a smooth consistency and feels lightweight making it easy to apply it across the strands. I use it on 70% wet hair and rake it in with my fingers, after which I finger-coil my hair so that it retains shape. I noticed the leave-in cream doesn’t make my hair sticky and separates the curls while adding definition. In humid weather, my hair tends to stick together into a big blob of frizz but that has reduced manifolds after using this product.
Speaking about the quantity, I just eyeball it depending on my hair length. There have been times that I have overused this product and it still didn’t weigh my hair down. The hair at the crown didn’t look flat, in fact, it looks shapely, defined, and voluminous.
Trust me when I say that I have tried everything in the book to keep my curls frizz-free; from DIY leave-in conditioners for curly hair to medicated solutions, I have used it all. This trial and error has helped me find the right products for my hair and the Curlvana leave-in conditioner for curly hair has been just that!
Would I recommend it?
My hair has a mind of its own and if this product worked on me, it should ideally work on most wavy, curly hair types. It is definitely one of the better leave-in conditioners for curly hair in India, and I am going to repurchase it after I run out of mine. It considerably reduces frizz and gives a soft hold while defining the hair.
